WINSTON-SALEM -- A 15-year-old basketball player was in critical condition in a North Carolina hospital after he collapsed during a junior varsity game.
A Winston-Salem school spokesman says 15-year-old Khalid Prince of Parkland High School collapsed Tuesday about 6 p.m. while running during a junior varsity game.
Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools spokesman Theo Helm says there was no contact with another player before Prince fell.
Prince was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center where a spokeswoman said he remained in critical condition Wednesday morning.
Helm said Prince also played football and had a physical at the beginning of the school year.
