BRUNSWICK COUNTY — One day after Brunswick County sheriff Ron Hewett resigned about 18 people have expressed interest in his old job. Brunswick County Democratic Party spokesman Robert Epstein told us an executive committee will hear from each interested candidate at 10:00 a.m. on May 10. It’s still unclear who will be on that committee but Epstein says the party is committed to having an open process, and plans on taking its time to make sure the process is done correctly.
