As the economy continues to struggle, what is congress doing to help? That’s what NewsChannel Three’s Kevin Wuzzardo asked US Representative Mike McIntyre today on Good Morning Carolina. The congressman said lawmakers are considering another round of economic stimulus checks, and reforms for the mortgage industry. He also says he expects to see some action this week in Congress on a comprehensive energy plan. It would focus on short-term solutions like off-shore drilling as well as alternate forms of energy. "As we look at solar cells, wind, even nuclear energy, and we know our experience with nuclear right down the road with the Brunswick nuclear plant, that we have a comprehensive energy plan that takes all of this into account so that we’re looking at the short-term, immediate effect as well as the longer term," said McIntyre.

Must be election time…Big Mike is chirping like a magpie!

I heard that song too. I think he may have seen the poll which shows 80% of North Carolinians are for drilling for oil. He sure was promoting that… I think he got the message. I don’t know if it’s all talk to get elected or not, but we shall see. I voted for him last time but I won’t this time. I won’t vote for any incumbant Democrat this time around.
