A federal committee is meeting to decide whether to seek the death penalty against a man accused of killing UNC student body president Eve Carson.

The Attorney General's review committee was discussing the case today.

Demario Atwater and Laurence Lovette have been charged with killing Carson. Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall has said he will seek the death penalty against Atwater, but juries in that county tend to avoid giving death sentences.

Lovette can not be sentenced to death because the crime was committed before he turned 18.

he should seek the death peanlty.. and no parole or ne thing

  • should be a no-brainer! It’s made for the death penalty. Unfortunately, we taxpayers will foot the bill to keep this low-life alive until he exhausts all appeals.

Send them beck to Durham and give them a gun. Let them roam the neighborhoods and college campuses killing and raping at will. This is what was done before. The real problem is that they didn’t kill enough to move the populus in Durham to throw out the officials and politicians that allowed the cess pool these two miscreants swam out of to thrive. You idiots don’t know it but there is a war going on. If you don’t have a gun you better get one, because the cops just investigate crimes – they don’t stop them. And yes, everyone send a note to Durham thanking them for making their community such a hospitable place for thugs and gangbangers so they could grow in influence and spread to the rest of the state.

I’m a liberal, with one exception. No parents or siblings should ever be put through the horror that the Carsons have been. As a society, it is our obligation to protect families in our communities.

As a result, if a reasonable jury finds reasonable cause to convict these guys and sentence them to the max, I say we supportr that jury. These guys had all the advantages that society offers. Granted their parents were unsuccessful, and they were born into a bad neighborhood.

However, so was Deval Patrick, now the Gov. of MA, and so was Barack O’Bama, now a senator running for president of the U.S. It’s all about choices. If these two couldn’t choose better, then they need to be locked up.

If the only way to ensure that they cannot escape is death penalty, then that’s appropriate. Here’s why:

Ted Bundy was locked up and then escaped. Tragically, he went on to savagely kill more girls in FL. It is our duty to make sure that killers are not able to escape and if that means we have to put them down, then, deep breath, let’s do it.

I agree 100%. If sentenced to death they should be taken have two days to say goodbye to family and friends, ask for forgiveness and be executed. Those two days is more than her family got. This country needs to get tougher with sentencing; parole is a joke most of the time. You kill someone in cold blood, death penalty simple as that, I don’t want my tax dollars to go to his meals, TV, etc. They are a waste of air and a sorry excuse for a human.
