RALEIGH — Bev Perdue is hoping again that "Sheriff Andy Taylor" will take her across the finish line first. The Democratic candidate for governor unveiled a new television ad Monday in which Andy Griffith endorses her for governor. The folksy Griffith, who played Sheriff Taylor in the popular 1960s sitcom, "The Andy Griffith Show," also appeared in a Perdue commercial before the primary. In the ad, Griffith says he likes to whistle on the way to the lake. But he says it’s no time for whistling and that it is time for a strong leader such as Perdue. Griffith says that with Perdue’s help, "times will get better for whistling again." Griffith appeared in ads for now-outgoing Gov. Mike Easley during his 2000 and 2004 campaigns. First, actors are actors…the name says it all.
The majority of actors are liberal Democrats…that says it all.

…Hollywood actors still have to kiss Democrats’ butts or never be offered work.

he’s as old as dirt. Too old to act anymore and too old for anyone to give a crap about what he thinks.

I agree. The thing that worries me is that there are people that more or less worship actors and actresses. They don’t read or listen to all sides and listen to the canditates and judge for themselves. They trust others to tell them the right canditates to vote for.It takes time, but if you want to feel good about your vote then do research.Research the canditate, the party, who he or she associates with, the who the canidate might put in major positions in our goverment. The things are important to thing about.

Andy Griffith actually died in 1997 in a freak tsunami that struck Maneto that year. It was probably a mercy-killing given the fact that he had not eaten or spoken rationally since the death of Otis, his well-known yet seldom spoke of lover. The commerical that they are showing was actually made with RoboAndy, an android made from high tech gadgets and what was found after the disaster. Bev, although usually frightened of machines and speaking, did agree after several threats to be filmed walking beside the robot. She calmed after she was assured that it was done with “good” magic.

At least, that’s what I heard….VOTE GOP or die!!McCain 08 !!

I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion regarding who they support politically, I was wondering what your post has to do with a story about Andy Griffith endorsing Beverly Perdue?

2015 years 10 months ago

Because I said so.

For example – remember the episode where Opie and his buddies play out their own version of “Robinhood” by stealing from the hard working folks of Mayberry and giving the stolen goods to a lazy, homeless drunk man? Sounds a little like what Bev Perdue and Barack Obama want to do by “redistributing wealth.” Andy Taylor set Opie and his buddies straight by explaining that stealing is stealing any way you look at it, and it isn’t right to take something that belongs to someone else.

Here’s the real reason she could not participate in Friday’s forum. She was walking in slow motion with Andy.

The thing about Andy Griffith doing the ad for perdue is everybody looks at Griffith and associates him with old time values.

The problem with that is, he is nothing like Andy Taylor.

It’s a classic bait and switch.

She’s done nothing up till the election except put N.C. into more debt.

What we will get are more taxes and fees.

Remember when you could fish in the ocean for free?
Not now.

Remember when there were no emissions testing.
Not now.

And before someone says “we need clean air” ask yourself why 18 wheelers don’t have that inspection.

If it were truly about clean air, that pollution would be addressed.

She will provide more of the same.

Look forward to a breathable air tax.

I loved the show for years. BUT this was a clearly PAID for add.

Why is some of you slamming Andy? Remember, even though he might be a retired actor, he is a NC Citizen and has a right to support who he wants. So what who he is.
