WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Medical Board has suspended the license of a Wilmington doctor who’s in jail tonight charged with illegally prescribing narcotics.

Investigators say Guy Dyer was running a cash-only business at his clinic on Shipyard Blvd. prescribing narcotics without establishing a medical reason. Even though Dyer has yet to be convicted, the state medical board decided to suspend his medical license now in part because it said he falsified patient records the board requested as part of its investigation.
