RALEIGH, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — Senator-Elect Bill Rabon has been selected by his peers as the Republican Freshman Senate Leader. Rabon was unanimously elected Freshman Leader by the 13 freshmen Republican Senators-Elect at the recent Republican Senate Caucus meeting in Raleigh.

“The 13 newly elected Republican Senators represent over one-fourth of the entire Upper Chamber of the General Assembly,” Rabon said. “I am impressed by these new Senators’ commitment to helping create jobs and eliminating wasteful spending. I will help ensure that the collective voice of the new Republican Senators is heard and our priorities are achieved.”

Beginning in 2011, Senator-Elect Rabon will represent Senate District 8 in the North Carolina General Assembly. The district comprises Brunswick, Columbus and Pender counties.
