WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Bluebirds in the Cape Fear have a new place to call home. Today the Cape Fear Garden Club dedicated its second bluebird house trail at the New Hanover County Arboretum.

Last year the club dedicated a similar trail at Airlie Gardens.

The bluebird posts feature work from local artist Sean Ruttkay. The Garden Club says the posts will help make life a bit easier for the birds.

“Nesting boxes are provided so they can nest, and food is in the general area, so they can feed themselves and feed their young,” Frances Parnell said.

The Cape Fear Garden Club has plans to add several more bluebird trails in the future.
