RALEIGH, NC (AP) — North Carolina plans to release its unemployment rate for December.
Monday’s data from the Employment Security Commission will show the impact holiday hiring may have had on the jobless rate.
North Carolina’s unemployment rate rose to 9.7 percent in November as the state led the country in the number of jobs lost. The rate was 9.6 percent in October.
The national unemployment rate also rose in November to 9.8 percent, but fell to 9.4 percent in December.
