WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Laney High School will hold a Hall of Fame ceremony Friday. There's one person on the list of inductees that will certainly grab the majority of the spotlight, but that's nothing new. Michael Jordan is used to being in this position.

The induction ceremony will be held after the conclusion of the Laney-New Hanover girls basketball game, which starts at 6 p.m. The ceremony will likely start around 7:30 p.m.

Jordan is aware of the ceremony, but he has not made a commitment to attend. The Laney-New Hanover boys basketball game will start after the induction ceremony.

Jordan is a 1981 graduate of Laney. He won a national championship at UNC in 1982, six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls and an Olympic gold medal as part of the Dream Team in 1992. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009 and the NC Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.

List of Laney inductees for Friday's ceremony:

Michael Jordan
Kimberly Grotsky (tennis)
Andre Humphrey (wrestling, football, baseball)
Ken McLaurin (Laney's first principal)
Jessica Williams (volleyball, basketball, softball)
