WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We have sad news to pass along concerning UNCW freshman guard Tanner Milson. His father passed away Monday morning after a year long battle with lung cancer. David Tanner was a non-smoker.

Tannner Milson will miss UNCW’s game versus Georgia State Wednesday. His return date back to Wilmington is not known. Milson’s father made several trips to Wilmington the last few months in order to watch him play basketball at Trask Coliseum. Here’s an article the Dallas Morning News published on David Tanner.
