WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Traffic was snarled for hours on a busy Wilmington road.

A concrete truck hit a delivery truck head on around 8 a.m. on Carolina Beach Road north of Independence Blvd. The crash flipped the concrete truck onto its side blocking traffic for hours as crews worked to get it back up.

Amy murphy is a waitress at Bon Appetite on Carolina Beach Road. She was driving to work and saw the whole thing.

"I come on into work, and everyone's talking about how loud it is," she said. "I was scared it was going to come through the window. It was a matter of feet away from the building."

No one was injured in the accident. The driver of the delivery truck was cited for failing to yield to the right of way.

Traffic was backed up in both north and southbound lanes.
