FORT BRAGG, NC (AP) — A federal agency will release the results of an investigation into a string of mysterious infant deaths at Fort Bragg.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to discuss its findings at a news conference at the post Thursday.

Eleven infants have died in unexplained circumstances at the base since 2007. Two infants from different families died within three months of each other at the same address in 2009.

The Army Criminal Investigation Command and other agencies have been investigating, including testing the materials that were used to build the houses where the infants lived.

Fort Bragg is home to the US Army Airborne and Special Forces. About 45,000 people live on the base, including about 6,200 families.
