WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Applying to college, filling out financial aid forms and trying to plan a career path can be scary for middle and high schoolers to think about.

UNC Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College try to make life a little easier by putting on the annual “College Maze.”

It’s a workshop series where 8th through 12th graders can learn more about the admissions process, financial aid, scholarships, loans and grants from college specialists.

“I basically came here just to kind of get more information about Cape Fear and scholarships and financial aid, trying to see what I need to do just to get into college, you know, get more information. I’ve been looking online, doing research, but I wanted to actually talk to people and kind of know, what do I need to do,” said Topsail High School Senior Ariel Boehmer.

Boehmer graduates June 10th, and she said she is ready for college and the challenges it will bring… even more so now after the College Maze.
