WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Strong showers/storms produced wind gusts in excess of 45 mph across parts of Columbus county around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, and led to spotty power outages in at least 3 counties in our viewing area. Showers/storms will continue to diminish in coverage and intensity Thursday evening. Skies will become partly cloudy Thursday night. Dry weather is expected Friday.
