WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Big news at Wilmington International Airport today. The Windy City will soon be just a flight away from the Port City.

American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, is the latest airline joining the fleet at ILM. It will add two daily non-stop flights to Chicago O’Hare beginning July 2.

Chicago is a popular business destination from the Cape Fear. Airport officials say adding to the benefits, O’Hare is a key hub, which will make it easier to reach the rest of the midwest and west coast.

"The bottom line is that it really is a schedule that has good frequency with two flights a day, seven days a week, and number two, it has great scheduling," ILM airport director Jon Rosborough said. "What really piqued the interest of American was Chicago and points beyond."

The new service will operate with 44-seat Embraer jets.

You can book your tickets now. Round trip airfare is about $340.

Here is the schedule, beginning July 2 (all times local):
