DURHAM, NC (AP) — Forget March Madness. Startup Madness is
being held in Durham for entrepreneurs.

The event being held Thursday at Bay 7 of the American Tobacco
Campus is the third startup showcase founded by Scott Kelly, an
investment banker with Keysource Commercial Bank. The Herald-Sun of
Durham reported that the Tobacco Road Challenge is held first and
lets student entrepreneurs from local universities pitch their
business ideas.

In the evening portion, entrepreneurs will present their ideas
to potential investors. Kelly says some entrepreneurs are at the
prototype stage while others are ready to market their products.

In addition, the event includes speakers such Jud Bowman, chief
executive officer of Appia, a cross platform, open app store and
content marketplace.
