WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Coast Guard Cutter Diligence is in port and open to the public this weekend for the Azalea Festival.

The crew of the Diligence is excited to be home for the festival. They say they are taking full advantage by participating in many events including the parade.

The cutter is open for tours tomorrow from 2 p.m. until sunset.

“We’re very excited here aboard Coast Guard Cutter Diligence to be in port this year for the 64th Annual Azalea Festival,” CDR Harry Schmidt said. “Last year, as the Coast Guard City of Wilmington knows, we were away from home port so to be a part of the ceremony and all the festivities this year really means a lot.”

The crew of the Diligence says they hope many folks come visit their ship this weekend.

Tours also run Saturday and Sunday from 10 am. until sunset.
