WALLACE,NC (WWAY) - Senior Josh Brock tied a school-record by finishing 15-under-par and winning medalist honors at the River Landing Intercollegiate on Saturday at the River Landing Golf Club. The Seahawks finished fourth overall.

Brock entered the final round with a four-stroke lead and held off a charge from NC State's Albin Choi to win the tournament by two strokes. For Brock, it was his second title of the spring and the third of his career. He won the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in a one-hole playoff.

Brock tied the UNCW record for lowest score with a three-round total of 201, matching former standout Derek Wallace's 201, 15-under, score set in 2008 at the Kauai Intercollegiate.

East Carolina won the team championship by three strokes over Liberty.

The Seahawks (289-285-282=856) entered Saturday in fourth and finished that way when they carded a final round score of 282. UNCW edged 24th-ranked NC State for fourth by three strokes.

Freshman Payne McLeod (74-72-71=217) was UNCW's only other top-20 finish, tying for 19th.

Sophomore Taylor Zimmerman (74-72-72=218) fashioned his best finish of the year with a 22nd-place showing as an individual.

The Seahawks visit Georgia Tech next weekend for the Georgia Tech Intercollegiate.

Below is the story we posted on Friday after the completion of round two at River Landing.

WALLACE,NC (WWAY) - Tournament leader Josh Brock carded an 11-under-par two round score of 133 to help lead UNCW into fourth place at the River Landing Intercollegiate on Friday at the River Landing Golf Course in Wallace, N.C. "Pretty special," those were some of Josh's first words after the conclusion of Friday's second round. "I'm in position to win the tournament. It's a three round tournament. You can't win it today. I just came out today looking to make birdies, that's all you can ask for. It would be really nice though to cap off my senior year with a win here." Josh Brock carded ten birdies, one eagle and one bogey over his first two rounds at River Landing.

Brock (66-67=133) leads the field following his impressive opening day golf. The Seahawks, meanwhile, fired back in the second round to improve from seventh to fourth.

Liberty (278-277=555) leads the field followed by host East Carolina (283-278=561) and Memphis (275-292=567), both out of Conference USA. UNCW trails third-place Memphis by seven strokes.

The third and final round tees off on Saturday at 8 a.m.
