WPD officers nab robbery suspect

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FROM THE WILMINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Case#: 2011-016848
Time: 1:04 p.m. – Sunday afternoon
Location: 148 Spring Avenue
Offense: Robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Summary: The male victim, age 21, initially was reluctant to provide information, but later told officers that the suspect robber came up to him while he was hanging out with a friend. The robber started a dispute with the victim and then pulled out a handgun. He pulled off the victim’s gold chains and took cash from his front pocket.

Then, according to the victim, the robber jumped into a vehicle and drove off.

During the follow-up investigation, officers collected enough information to obtain a warrant for the suspect, Tracy Lovell Taylor, d.o.b. 12-9-1992, Taylor was located, arrested and charged several hours later. He is in custody at the NHC detention facility under $54,000 secure bond. He was charged with the robbery, as well as failure to appear on a prior charge. Booking photo is attached.

He was just trying to feed his mama and her 9 kids cause welfare don’t provide enough money for drugs, food and them gold chains. Wait a minute, I think in the hood the gold chains come before feeding kids. LOL

I’ll post it first, he is a good guy and never hurt anybody. I couldn’t quite keep a straight face but I tried.
