There are lots of victims of the recession and there a many people trying to just get by from day to day but that’s no reason or excuse for selling this poison….what’s wrong with getting a job and earning a paycheck, if she’s NOT to old to sell drugs she’s not to old to work!!! Her bond should have been a half million….keep her locked up where she belongs so she can’t sell/distribute her poison.

Want to bet she has no priors, want to bet she is just trying to survive, want to bet she is a victim of the recession.

There’s a lot more to this story than Grandma selling drugs, the why of it all would be a eye opener I think.

Some people can not afford to save money. Apparently you must have such a great job..or do your parents give you money. You talk about saving…saving what? Bills have to be paid, groceries are going up, medical costs going up, GAS going up the list goes on. People have lost their houses. Since your so smart why don’t you run for president and fix the world!!!!! LOL

I bet she was selling her own monthly supply of meds. I have known several people that did the same thing to make ends meet. When you’re on social security you’re not allowed to work. Some of these people only get $600 a month to live on.

You are incorrect…you ARE allowed to work and receive social security. I know many people who receive social security and work.

…she has no one to blame but herself. She shouldn’t feel alone, however. It’s estimated that two-thirds of people approaching retirement have less than $10k in savings, and are planning on living on Social Security.

Guess what, people? You cannot live on Social Security alone, and if you have no savings, you had better not plan on retiring.

There’s no benefit to being ignorant about financial planning.

Times are hard. I agree with Ted. She could be a victim of the market crash. No one knows what resources she had before the recession and the bottom fell out of the market. Yes she had choices, but I want to ask the question, who hasn’t done something at one time or another to survive? It could be a little white lie, but it was still not truthful. She should be given some slack.

Okay but seriously what kind of job would you suggest she get. I am in no way saying that it is okay for this lady or anyone to sell drugs but come on desperate people do desperate things. The truth behind this story could vary from one extreme to another. WWAY decided to tell the juiciest part of this story and that’s about all they needed to tell in order for people to be judgemental.

What’s wrong is she is 72 and there are younger people than her who can’t get a job! She is trying to survive and if the people buying the stuff are stupid enough to buy it, then it’s their responsiblity for what ever happens to them.

At least she will be fed and sheltered in jail. No need to try to stretch her check.

I feel sorry for this old woman, that she had to resort to selling drugs;maybe her social security check wasn’t enough who knows, there are facts that were omitted from this story. They need to put her in a program, to show her other ways to make ends meet.
