WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) -- 2011 has been an incredible year for UNC Wilmington senior Josh Brock. He captured the individual title at last month's CAA golf championship. He won the River Landing Intercollegiate title as well. Clearly he's playing his best golf ever as the Seahawks approach the NCAA regionals in Blacksburg, Virginia. "The goal right now is to finish in the top five, Brock said. "We're the tenth seed. We'll going to go up there and give it all we got. Obviously we're the underdog with a lot of teams ranked higher than us right now, but if we show up and have a good week there's no reason we can't finish in the top three and get onto Oklahoma. That' where we want to be."

Not only did Josh Brock win the individual CAA title, the Seahawks captured the conference team championship. It was their first since 2005. Matt Clark is the UNCW head men's golf coach. "We've got great senior leadership from Michael Taylor and Josh Brock," Clark said. "They've really put the team on their shoulders and I expect them to respond. Josh has had a great season winning three out of his last four events. I expect him to continue his fine play. Also, Michael Taylor is excited getting to play in the NCAA regional in his home state."

This will be the Seahawks second consecutive appearance in an NCAA regional, but they'll have to play without Thomas Bass who is one of the top players on the squad. He recently broke a team rule. He's been suspended for the upcoming regional tourney. Freshman Joshua Woodfox has been inserted into the lineup replacing Bass.
