The Hoggard baseball team won the Mideastern Conference, earning the one seed in the state playoffs. The Vikings hosted Cape Fear, a wild card out of the Mid-South Conference in round one.

Ashley was the two seed, also earning a home game in round one.

Hoggard came up with a 2-0 victory behind the sparkling pitching performance of Coley Thompkins while Ashley needed to make a comeback. After falling behind 5-3, the Eagles scored the next seven runs of the ball game and held on for a 10-7 win.
