ASHEVILLE, NC (AP) — A pair of black bears caused a stir among
students and faculty when they wandered across the campuses of
Asheville High School and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community
College.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that high school students
were kept inside the buildings Tuesday while the bears explored the
grounds then wandered off toward the community college campus.

Asheville schools spokesman Charlie Glazner said it was the
second day in less than a week that bears were spotted on school
property.

A bear was seen at Isaac Dickson Elementary School of Friday.

After Tuesday’s lockdown was lifted, officials restricted
outdoor activity as a precaution.

The school had extra police officers when students were
dismissed.
