TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — Police arrested a man wanted for a shooting in broad daylight in Tabor City. Tabor City Police Chief Donald Dowless says Albert Henry, 34, is in custody and charged with second degree murder. Henry was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with the help of the SBI.

Police say a fight led to the shooting death of Chad Bellamy. It happened at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Bay Street.

Henry is being held on a $1,170,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. The investigation is ongoing.

Well you can speak about Tabor cops all you want. But let’s talk about our not-so-honest reputable sheriff Chris Batten. I invite anyone to Google sheriff Chris Batten and see what sort of reputation the not-so-good sheriff has amassed. He is a cross section of Columbus County’s reputation over the last several decades.Though he’s only been around for a few terms, he has done so much to live up to the Columbus County Corruption name that we have become defined by. Arrogant, nasty, body-odored bully. He runs his department like he acted in school. This county needs term limits and fast. One of the head commissioners Buddy Byrd was just arrested last year in Horry County while another came out in the paper making money off of Waste Management, a group contracted with the county. And what of the Department of Aging director who had missing almost a million from his budget? Nothing, absolutely nothing was ever done. “Cuz” used his position, and county money, to promote an elected official- a felony. That too was swept under the rug. Gotta love Columbus County and the crooks it employees.

Look at that the Tabor City Police Dept can’t even investigate their own murders. They had to call in the SBI to do it for them. Do their Detectives know what they are doing? Well it is probably better this way. Maybe there won’t be any forgotten evidence. Hopefully if this goes to trial the Chief might remember he has a uniform and not a flowered hawaiian shirt. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

The issue you have are not with this man but with the justice system. People can cope with emotions different ways. You seem to know very little about the case and the two men involved. Taking someones life is the ultimate revenge but what was the circumstances.we areso quick to judge other I personally couldn’t take a life but that’s what any sane person would say but again what if you life is threatend what would you choose this was not premeditated and there was remorse for the lost of his life..

By the look on his face, he doesn’t seem to be worried too much about taking the life of another person. Why should he? He will get to spend the rest of his life with three hot meals a day, watching TV, working out in the weight room, playing basketball, have free medical care, and free college classes…just to name a few. And the poor working class, law abiding citizens (whom most to not have the pleasures listed above)work to pay for his easy life.

Then we wonder why crimes are on the rise.
