ONLY ON 3 UPDATE: Berger victim still waiting on info

READ MORE:

Last week, New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger told Angela Lilly he would have more details this week about his car insurance and how to move forward to fix her car.

We spoke with Lilly late this afternoon. She says she has still not heard from Berger or his insurance company. She says she is still waiting for details on what to do about fixing her car.

Berger told her Thursday he would have the information available by today.

Berger

Lady, Just CALL his insurance company ! They will tell you if he has insurance on the car he ran into you with. IF he does they should be supplying you with a rental too !! If he did have coverage they will take care of it once you get them a copy of the police report. If he didnt (which I think is the problem) SUE HIS DUMB LYING A$$ !

More WWAY Lies About Berger

I know the Lady in the accident, and am familiar with this case, so I can tell you that WWAY misreported the facts and Mr. Berger acted with class and grace during what was had to be a very difficult time. Mr. Berger was clear from the beginning that Geico was his carrier, and they have covered the claim, provided a rental car, etc...

Berger always said that Geico was his policy holder. Only WWA?Y reported otherwise (hmmm....truth wway?) and he went so far as to state he would pay if for any reason Geico did not. Geico did what insurance companies do though, but Mr. Berger acted appropriately and to attack someone who attends lots of meetings because you had to wait two hours for a return call...how childish.

I don't know Mr. Berger but I see WWAY has not apologized, taken down its erroneous story, and thats why we can't trust WWAY. An apology is owed to Mr. Berger (WWAY...do you just follow him around because you cant report on what matters, only rumors and trashy gossip)? Where is all the coverage admitting wway lied to viewers and Mr. Berger conducted himself with honor throughout, how many of you would do the same. Offer to pay if your carrier doesn't? You cant even find the integrity to apologize to someone who seems to be a good man being unfairly dumped on by wway and others. I feel for Mr. Berger. I cant imagine what he must be feeling after everything he's been through...

WendyKW - thanks for leaving

WendyKW - thanks for leaving your comment.

I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but you're mistaken.

Brian Berger has never told us who his insurance is with to my knowledge. And it really doesn't add to or take away from the story to know whom he's with. Ms. Lilly has consistantly told us, up until this past Monday, that she can't seem to get things worked out with Mr. Berger.

We went to Thursday's County Commissioner Agenda Briefing, just like every other media outlet in town did, and Ms. Lilly came up to us to explain her problem. I talked with Mr. Berger myself after the meeting and he told me his attorney had instructed him not to talk to Ms. Lilly, that his insurance had been on his BMW, that he now had a Jeep, that he hadn't transferred the insurance to the Jeep when the accident happened, but as of that Thursday it had been transferred.

Those are all facts, so we having nothing to apologize for.

She doesn't have to wait on

She doesn't have to wait on him any longer or at all. She has his insurance company name for his liability policy and she has a police report citing Berger at fault. That's it. Done. I'm no longer fan of Berger but this is nothing to keep trying to wring his neck about.
Just call the company directly, they will take it from there.

Correction

they will take care of it if his policy was in force at the time of the incident.

If it was cancelled for any reason, there is nothing they can do but report, Sorry, no coverage.

With all of his recent bad press, any reasonably thinking person has to wonder why he would delay the resolution of the issue which exposed him to additionl bad press.

Perhaps

WWAY could go and ask Mr. Berger the name of the Insurance Company or Agency and offer to assist him in resolving the issue.

OR

Perhaps it is time for the victim to pursue criminal charges.

Please go

Can we impeach this dufus? Good grief.. Enough is enough.. He is doing nothing mut taking away attention from the politics and budgets that need paying attention to more now than they have since the 80's....
Go Berger... Take care of yourself and your personal business.. You are distracting others from doing a real job... Your political career is toast... You will never be relected I wouldn't thnk, so do yourself and the tax payers a favor.. Take care of Berger for once because you are in no shape currently to take care of a business for a large county.. You have become nothing but a distraction. Please go... Get yourself some help...

Maybe, just maybe

he was in the commissioner's meeting today. The one that started at 9 a.m. I doubt he'd take a call from his insurance company during the meeting and if he did you'd report on that too.

The Berger File:

I think maybe one of His priorities should be to follow up and take care of this lady. He told her Monday, Now give her an answer. I have never heard of so much bunk. Mr Berger either has insurance or He doesn't. Most of us already know the answer to that.

Amazing that Berger has yet

Amazing that Berger has yet to be charged with failure to have his vehicle insured. That is a serious offense. At least he was on time and at the County Commissioner meeting today. Way to go Brian!

Or, maybe not.

You mean one of those meetings that he can never get to on time? The one that started at 9 a.m. while he strolled in around 11 a.m.? Just checking.

no call coming

There will not be a call because he has already said he didn't have insurance on the vehicle. . . derrrrr here's your sign

The meeting only last a few hours, and he is unemployed!

Should have had plenty of time to find out if he has insurance. This is pathetic!
