CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — With a burn ban issued for the eastern part of the state, the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce has canceled fireworks for tonight in Carolina Beach.

The state issued the ban yesterday for 27 counties because of continued dry conditions and several wildfires burning.

The Chamber of Commerce says the weekly Thursday night festivities will go on with music from Madonna Nash from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the gazebo, just without the pyrotechnics.
