RALEIGH, NC (AP) — The former chief spokesman for President Obama is the special guest for a scheduled fundraiser for North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue’s 2012 re-election campaign.
Robert Gibbs was expected to attend Thursday evening’s event for Perdue at a private residence in Raleigh. Admission donations range from $250 to $4,000, the maximum amount to a candidate is allowed by state law.
Gibbs attended North Carolina State University and served as Obama’s press secretary for two years. He also served as a spokesman for Obama’s 2004 Senate campaign and 2008 presidential campaign.
An e-mail invitation to the event lists campaign supporters such as former Gov. Jim Hunt, former Perdue general counsel Eddie Speas and several Perdue administration leaders.
