Vehicle shot near Raleigh-Durham airport

READ MORE:

RALEIGH, NC (AP) -- Police say someone fired on a vehicle
traveling along Interstate 540 near the Raleigh-Durham airport, but
the shots missed the people inside.

WRAL-TV reported a man and woman were driving on the interstate
north of Raleigh when another car pulled alongside and opened fire
about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

The couple was hit by shattered glass.

The victims pulled into the airport and asked for help at an
airline ticket counter. Airport emergency services treated them.

Police were searching for a silver 314 series Acura with
dark-tinted windows and custom rims.

The victims told police they couldn't see who was in the car.

Raleigh police say they do not think the shooting is connected
to other recent shootings on the Durham Freeway.
