PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Forest Service will be hold a “town hall” general information meeting Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Holly Ridge Fire and Rescue Department located at 109 Holly St. That’s at the intersection of Highways 50 and 17.

Crews say the approximately 21,366-acre fire is about 10 percent contained.

The meeting will give the public an update on the status of the Juniper Road Fire that’s been burning in the Holly Shelter Game Land since the weekend.

The Forest Service will address any questions regarding what actions have taken place since the fires started, current conditions, as well as projections for the coming days.
