SUNSET HARBOR, NC (WWAY) — It seems July Fourth celebrations would not be complete without a parade, and many places around our area agree.
Sunset Harbor residents held their second ever July Fourth Parade Saturday to celebrate their community and our country.
WWAY’s own George Elliott was the Parade Grand Marshal. He kicked off the parade, which was full of trucks, tractors and golf carts. All ages turned out for the parade in honor of everything that makes the United States great.
“It just makes you pause and think about all the people that have served and do serve,” parade goer Alison Barnett said. “And how proud we all are of our freedom and the ability to be where we want to be on a day like today and be out with family.”
“We set off fireworks and have a cookout and all that stuff,” parade goer Ben Caudill said.
Animals made an appearance in the parade too, and the kids got a kick out of collecting candy.
