Travelers fly nonstop to Chicago from ILM

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington International Airport now offers daily nonstop flights to Chicago. Saturday was the first day this new flight flew in and out of ILM.

Local Ryan Hauck said he and his family are excited about it because they have family in Chicago, and this means they'll be able to see them more often. Plus, the nonstop flight means simpler traveling for the whole family.

"Not carrying them on and off the plane is a good thing, that's for sure,” Hauck said. “It makes it a lot easier with the little ones."

Chicago natives like the flight because it's a quick and easy way to get to the beach, and they encourage Wilmingtonians to check out their city too.

"Chicago is a fun place to go to, and there's a lot of sightseeing and places to see,” said Meggie Donley, a Chicago native whose vacationing in Wilmington with her family. “It's just a fun place."

The flight is operated by American Airlines and flies straight to Chicago O’Hare from Wilmington. For more information, check out:
