WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Commissioner Rick Catlin says he will run for the state House of Representatives. Catlin says he will make an official announcement after the legislature finishes drawing new lines for House districts, but he says he does plan to run in the newly drawn House District 20, which would serve the northeastern part of the county, including much of Wilmington outside of downtown.

“Look at the issues I’ve been working on: air quality, beach contingency plan, water quality, the reservoir, Foreign Trade Zone, economic development. Those are issues of regional interest. This actually gives me a chance to serve the citizens of New Hanover County better,” Catlin said.

Catlin, an environmental engineer, was elected to the New Hanover County Commission last year.

The Republican says he has the support of state Rep. Carolyn Justice, Rep. Danny McComas and Sen. Thom Goolsby.

Yes, another “pretty boy” that thinks he is all that…..been on county commisioners for a short time, and immediately wants to move up the political ladder….reminds me of “Pretty Boy” John Edwards….next thing you know, Catlin will be out on Wrightsville Beach shaking hands!!

No heart-all talk. For years a part of government that served the few and not most of us. He is a good candidate only in his own eyes. Hopefully the dems will give us a real alternative to this very arrogant and nasty guy.
He and his cronies represent the worst in NHC politics
