BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) -- The City of Boiling Spring Lakes has temporarily closed Seminole Lake because of recent water quality testing. All other lakes, including Spring Lake, are open for swimming. The city will continue to monitor water quality and asks that parents closely monitor infants and young children, who are more susceptible to bacteria and adverse materials in open bodies of water.
Recent test results indicated that all lakes except for Seminole Lake were acceptable for swimming. Because of recent drought conditions and low lake levels, unacceptable materials are unable to be diluted.
