FAYETTEVILLE,NC (WWAY) -- Jake Mayers hit a home run in the first inning to get the Wilmington Sharks off to a good start in Friday's CPL playoff game. Daniel Aldrich added a grand slam and a three run home run later to seal the deal for the Sharks. Starter Chris Mazza finished the game with nine strikeouts. The best of three playoff series is now tied at one with a 13-3 Sharks win over the Fayetteville Swampdogs. The deciding third game of the Coastal Plain League first round playoff series will be played Saturday night in Fayetteville.

Wilmington had to play the majority of Friday's game without head coach Chris Youngberg due to his ejection in the third inning.

If the Sharks win game three on Saturday they'll host a second round playoff game in Wilmington on Monday night at Buck Hardee Field against Gastonia.
