Arson believed to be caused by person who used pass key to enter building


ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A report from Asheville police says
investigators believe the person who started a blaze that killed a
firefighter used a pass key to get inside the medical office
building where it started.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Monday that Asheville Police Detective
Yvonne Coburn filed the report a day before federal investigators said arson was
the cause of the fire.

The report says 37-year-old fire Capt. Jeff Bowen died from
injuries suffered in the July 28 blaze.

The newspaper obtained the report through a state public records
law request.

The newspaper says the report indicates a person used a "pass
key" as the method of entry to the office but also states it was
forcible. The report also indicates that chemicals or acids were
