CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Beach is still working to clean up a sewage spill from last week.

The Town of Carolina Beach says it is doing everything it can to clean up 72,000 of untreated wastewater that spilled from a ruptured force main on Raleigh Avenue.

The town reported the spill to the media, but says when it comes to signs and that sort of public notification, it usually leaves that up to state officials.

A pump was still on scene today to work on cleaning up the mess.
