WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — WWAY Full Court Press co-host Brett Blizzard will return to the basketball court soon. Blizzard signed a contract Sunday with a professional basketball team in Italy.

Blizzard took a year off from pro basketball this past winter. During that time he co-hosted WWAY’s high school basketball show along side John Rendleman.

Blizzard said the opportunity to play basketball in Europe again was too good to pass up. UNCW’s all-time leading scorer will play for Fortitudo Biancoblu Basket Bologna. Blizzard previously played professionally in Bologna, but this will be his first time playing for Fortitudo Bianco Blu Basket Bologna.

Blizzard currently runs the Blizzard Athletics training facility. The gym will remain open during his absence under the direction of Wilmington native Tre Whitted. The Laney High School grad played professionally for the Springfield Armor in the NBA Developmental League.
