WEAVERVILLE, NC (AP) — Authorities accuse a South Carolina man
of shooting his ex-girlfriend in the head at her North Carolina
home as her 16-year-old daughter watched.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that 40-year-old Danny Dale
Gosnell of Campobello, S.C., is charged with murder in the death
of 42-year-old Brenda Williams of Alexander.

Family members say the mother of three ended the relationship
Friday. Her 16-year-old daughter says she looked outside Wednesday
morning after he pulled up and saw him shoot her in the head with a
shotgun, then walk up and shoot her again.

Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan says deputies stopped Gosnell
minutes later on Interstate 240 in Asheville after witnesses
described his vehicle. Duncan says a gun was in his truck.

It was unclear if Gosnell has an attorney.
