RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Gov. Bev Perdue says officials haven't received
reports of damage or injuries in the state from an earthquake that was
centered in Virginia.
Perdue said state officials called Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell
soon after Tuesday's quake to see if his state needed any help, but
he said they were OK right now.
Media outlets and officials reported the 5.9-magnitude
earthquake centered near Richmond, Va., was felt in North Carolina
from Asheville to the Triad to Jacksonville.
Perdue says she did not feel the earthquake while in Greensboro
attending a public event.
