COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Allen “Frog” Strickland is back in jail in Columbus County tonight after turning himself in to bail bondsman Mark Cartret.

On August 19 Allen Strickland was released on $1 million bond along with the stipulation that he wear a GPS monitoring device and have no contact with former state Senator R.C. Soles.

Thursday Strickland violated court orders by going to Soles’s home. Strickland then went to the Vasco convenience store in Tabor City and removed his monitoring device.

Strickland is now in the Columbus County jail charged with first degree trespassing and pretrial removal of an electronic monitoring device.

He is currently under a $25 million bond order for arrest for removal of the GPS device. He is due back in court September 23 for a trial on vandalism and trespassing charges from an incident at Soles’s home back in February.

R.C. is gonna have to do a lot of pimpin to get Frog out of the pokey this time. Maybe he can get John Edwards to loan him some money from his sex tape profit.

He never leaves Tabor City, not much of a flight risk as long as RC is around. The crimes he commits are not serious, this is a laughing stock and an embarrassment to Frog, Tabor City and the Columbus County judicial system.

I only wish they would put these kind of bonds on drug traffickers, instead they are released back unto the streets to continue their business.

  • You think it ok to free everyone says:

You must be like Judge Sasser or Jolly. Run these peoples’ records properly prior to setting bail and you will discover that almost ALL of them qualify for high bail or at the very least secured bail. They are all involved in the swinging door of justice via repeat crimes and have extensive records of past violence. That too is one of the factors that NC Law says shall be used in determining bail. So if this is how you excuse unsecured bail and your new policy, which, no other judges in the other 99 counties use-you might need to recheck your data, or rethink your policy.

consider dealing drugs a serious crime? If not, please expand on your definition of a serious crime.

    Not Heaven, HELL!!!!

The best thing we can do is to pray for everyone involved in this circus.

that old RC will finally do something totally stupid that will get him locked up for the rest of his life.

Maybe he could share a cell with Frog.

    A marriage made in heaven.

  • SurfCityTom says:

Are they serious? What a joke? They’re not dealing with a gun toting, drug deperado. This is Frog, really just a little weasel.

If the judicial system truly believes he merits this level of bail, then we should start seeing much higher bail limits for the true crimminals in the area.

DWI — how about Ten Million?

Dealing Drugs — how about Twenty-five million?

I could go on; but the point has been made.

  • Guest28480 says:

Unless a serious crime, bond amount is not dependant on what your charges are.

For minor charges, such as these, the bond is derived from your criminal history and your flight risk on showing up for court.

It’s apparent that if he’s out on bond he’s going to continue to commit crimes, therefore he should be under this type of bond.

And if the courts keep it that high and he doesn’t get out, when he finally goes to court for all of his charges, he’ll get out with credit for time served.

Then we get to watch this start all over again.

    @ surfcitytom

People who do a lot worse don’t get these kind of bond orders. I see your point.

The real reason is, he has embarrassed Columbus County by drawing all this news attention. There are plenty of repeat offenders of worse crimes out on bail right now in this county!

Heck RC shot somebody and didn’t even go to jail.

  • Guest says:

We all get the fact that these kids are a mess and have no adults to look up. When is RC Soles going to be arrested for what he has done to these kids?

  • Guest11221 says:

This is ridiculous. The court system is failing the citizens of Tabor City and Columbus County. They are letting this idiot to force law enforcement to chase him around the county instead of helping out citizens who mean a damn. He is a flight risk. Put his a%* in jail in lieu of bail. He obviously has a knack of making friendships with older men. He is laughing at the court system and making a mockery of it. I want to know who keeps putting up the bond? That is the question!!!!!

  • R.W.Twining says:

Anyone have any idea how much jail time Frog will have to spend with all these charges hanging over him?

  • anne says:

He will be out as soon as some lunatic can get him posted!!!!!!! Unless the situation changes, by tomorrow he will be walking out again. Let’s wait and see. Can’t let the poor boy sit in jail WHERE HE SHOULD BE. We don’t want Mr. Soles standing on the courthouse steps making a fool of himself again now do we?
