WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Residents around the Cape Fear got a special treat this morning when boxing great James “Bonecrusher” Smith stopped by a local radio station.

The former heavyweight champ and Duplin County native visited 103.7 The Bone to promote the Boxing Legends Hall of Fame Weekend in Myrtle Beach. It is the kickoff to the opening of the Boxing Legends Hall of Fame

Bonecrusher said there’s lots in the works for the museum.

“Part of the museum, once we get it completed, we will have the largest fantasy camp in the world attached to the largest hall of fame in the world,” Smith said.

The kick off begins Thursday, and the festivities happen all weekend. For more information visit http://www.championforkids.org/events.html.
