HAMPSTEAD,NC (WWAY) — Two of the top 2-A high school soccer teams in the state squared off in Hampstead on Wednesday night. In fact Topsail and East Duplin are both ranked in the top ten in the state on the 2-A level.

Neither team scored in the first half, but East Duplin scored three goals after intermission. With the win the East Duplin Panthers improve to 8-1 on the season. Topsail drops to 5-3 as the Pirates open the East Central 2-A Conference with a loss.
