SHALLOTTE,NC (WWAY) — What comes around goes around. Alfy Hill originally committed to a Southeastern Conference school in 2009. The former West Brunswick Trojan committed to the University of Alabama in September of 2009. Hill received another SEC offer this week, but he won’t be eligible to play at the University of South Carolina or any other division one school until 2013.

Alfy Hill currently attends Los Angeles Valley Community College. LAVCC currently sports a 2-2 record. The Road from Shallotte to Los Angeles has been a strange one though.

In September of 2009 Alfy Hill chose Alabama. Hill actually attended summer school at the University of Alabama in the summer of 2010. He passed three courses, but the NCAA ruled Afly Hill to be an academic non-qualifier because of an online course he took at West Brunswick his senior year in Shallotte. Hill was forced to leave Alabama. He then decided to enroll at East Carolina, but he wasn’t going to be eligible to play at East Carolina right away due to NCAA guidelines.

West Brunswick football coach Jimmy Fletcher said things didn’t work out for Hill at East Carolin. “He then went to Itawamba Junior College in Mississippi,” Fletcher said. “That did not work out. Now he’s at Los Angeles Valley Community College in LA.”

The former West Brunswick Trojan has received an offer to play in the SEC for USC Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier. “I do know that South Carolina has offered. I do know NC State is probably going to offer, but he has to graduate from there. If he does not graduate from LAVCC, then he’s finished.” If Hill does graduate from LAVCC, then he should be eligible to play division one football in the fall of 2013. “I tell him he’s the most traveled college student in America,” Fletcher added.

Stay focused on what you need to do to get to Columbia. As was noted, this may be your last chance.

the truth is fletcher plays favorites, he is still helping this guy and still trying to help dee hill, a convicted criminal. what about the kids he has now? he lets his favorites play and the ones that work the hardest in the class room and practice field sit on the sidelines.

  • Alfy Hill

first of all fletcher plays the players who work hard both on and off the field and this is Alfy Hill you dont know whay your talking about so please dont speak if you dont know what your talking about and Fletcher helps everyone get to college

Quick question does anyone know what happened to him at ECU?? I wish him the best but, this is a strange situation!

  • SurfCityTom

he was not going to be able to play immediately; and as a result, no scholarship until he was eligible which meant he would have to work and pay his way or his parents would have to pony up the funds the first year.

You always gonna have people that want to see you fell cause of some crazy reason remeber I’ve always told you that before but only you can control your fate. You know coach Fletcher and I know him also he’s a great person and good coach I’ve coached along side as well, and he is what west brunswick needs as a coach no matter what others say. Just like he teaches as a coach never give up and keep fighting theres always some parent out there that thinks there child should be playing and haven’t been to a pratice to witness the truth about there childs so call hard work and most important they’re like of skill set to perform well enough to be on the field of play. Remeber football is know kiddie sport and coaches know who can do what cause we’ve seen the kids and know there capabilities and the last thing you want to do is get a kid seriously hurt that could effect them for life! So I say to coach Fletcher keep up the good work with trying to get those kids in schools, cause even when you think your trying to make a difference by helping out others people still have something bad to say! And the Dee Hill comment ever who said that should be ashamed everyone makes mistakes and he payed for them i guess some of us were never teenagers, but I guess that made him a bad football player his performece on the field had nothing to do with his off the field choices bad things happen to good people on both accounts everyday to say the least! But that don’t main you throw in the towel on someone, its easy to create a criminal by sticking them with worse criminals and forget them and now they become a career criminal. Alfy so now you know what you gotta do and take peoples negative comments and let that be your fuel that drives you. A lot of folks want you to fell believe it or not I went throw it when I was at west and heck we played in 3 state championships back to back and played in 2 different divisions at same time and we still over came as a team and individually! Hey have fun play your heart out and be thankful of your oppertunity its not over until you yourself say its over!! I’m Proud of you
