PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County School Board is moving forward on its search for a new superintendent.

The board says it received 28 applications to replace Allison Sholar, who is moving to Currituck County. From that pool, the board has selected 10 applicants to interview in the first round.

The board hopes to narrow that group down to three or four with a final decision by the end of November.
