WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Turning back the clock set a record at the Battleship North Carolina over the weekend.

The Battleship charged 1961 prices Sunday in honor of the 50th anniversary of the ship’s arrival in Wilmington. Admission for adults was 50 cents and 25 cents for kids.

In all 5,232 people took advantage of the half-century discount. That set an all-time, one-day record for paid visitors to North Carolina’s World War II memorial.
