Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival hits the stage this weekend

FORT FISHER, NC (WWAY) — It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend. What better way to enjoy it than at the beach, with some tasty seafood and a little music?

Actually, make that a lot of music. The 18th Annual Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival is this weekend.

Families can enjoy a free kids zone, check out arts and crafts and enjoy a wine garden. The big draw is the music There will be 15 bands plus the main attraction Saturday night.

“We have a blues stage. We have a jazz stage,” Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce President Gail McCloskey said. “They’re both going all day long. The music starts at 12:30 p.m. on both stages. Jimmy Vaughn is our headliner. He’ll be appearing at 8 p.m. on Saturday night.”

Tickets are $30 for both Saturday and Sunday if you buy them in advance. At the gate it’s $30 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday. The festival is at the Fort Fisher Military Recreation Area.
