ROCKY MOUNT, NC (AP) — Two poodle mixes found in a Rocky Mount park are recovering with a foster mom.
The Rocky Mount Telegram reported that veterinarians estimate that Marley is about 8 years old and Charley is about 5 years old. Vets shaved about 7 pounds of fur from each dog after they were found Oct. 1 in Sunset Park.
The president of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals Alliance of North Carolina says their exact breed isn’t known, but she thinks they’re poodle mixes. President Shelley Milburn says neither dog is malnourished.
About $6,000 has been raised for the dogs’ care. The Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible for the dogs’ conditions.
