CONWAY, SC (NEWS RELEASE) — Coastal Carolina head coach Cliff Ellis announced Friday that Benny Moss has accepted an offer to become the newest assistant coach on his staff.

“I am excited to have an assistant coach with as much experience as Benny has,” Ellis said. “He was a hard-nosed player and coach, which will be beneficial to our program.”

Moss most recently served as the head basketball coach at UNC Wilmington from 2006-2010.

Before being named the head coach at Wilmington, Moss served six seasons as the top assistant for Bobby Lutz and UNC Charlotte, where the 49ers compiled a 114-69 record during his stay.

During his six years at Charlotte, the 49ers won two league titles, posted three 20-win seasons and advanced to four NCAA Tournaments.

Moss lettered two years at UNCC under head coach Jeff Mullins before transferring to Pfeiffer, where he played and later coached under Lutz. He was named to the 1990 Sun Belt Conference All-Freshman Team at UNCC, earned Academic All-American honors and was voted to the 1993 Carolinas Conference All-Tournament Team at Pfeiffer.

Moss served as an assistant coach at Pfeiffer for three seasons as the Falcons went 71-22. Pfeiffer won a pair of conference titles, advanced to two NAIA National Tournaments that included a runner-up finish in 1995

Moss earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Charlotte in 1992 and completed his MBA at Pfeiffer in 1994.

He and his wife, Dee Dee, have a son, Duane (13), and a daughter, Courtney (9).

…Weasel beats WORM any day of the week! You’ve been trumped…slide back down in your easy chair, put the laptop down and get back to the soaps.

Tom, you’re actually fun to watch! Why are you so preoccupied with “entitlement recipients” while you advocate CORPORATE WELFARE.

Here’s some advice: change up to modern pontificals, the codpiece you are wearing is much too tight…

Tom gets excited looking at himself in the mirror and WWAY enjoys his “contributions” because we spend our time responding… Tom is perfect and we mere mortals don’t have any choice but to accept this.

either you can not spell or you can not proof read or you do not really know what you wish to express.

He certainly did not suffer financially when he departed. And apparently the Administration agreed the AD used poor judgement in her timing and her failure to have a replacement lined up. They sent her packing.

So what is your point?

Tom, who died and left you editor? And by the way, before you criticize others for not proof reading, maybe you should realize it is one word. Why don’t you try proofreading your stuff before you worry about others? I would think with all the time you waste on this site posting comments you could at least get yours right… or wright? Why don’t you tell me how to speel?

normally worms consume decaying bodies.

It amazes me all the wasted rhetoric over my post.

I asked a simple question for clarification on another listener’s post.

And despite all the hot air being spewed forth by the bashers, no one has had the ability to explain his post.

About all you’ve accomplished is prove all of the idle beings are not located in Tabor City.

And you’ve probably given Rendleman a few chuckles.

You entitlement recipients should be happy old SCT is out in the business world as a productive entrepeneur. Were he not, your entitlement amounts might drop sooner than you anticipate.

pokes his head out of the ground.

The original post still causes anyone with a brain to wonder what the message is or was.

Don’t worry, entitlement day will be here in 2 weeks and you’ll have something to occupy your brain.

you do a good interview; I admit I don’t watch the Coaches Corner.

It’s too bad you don’t have the time to cover sports items such as the Wilmington Tigers, Sea Dawgs, and Sharks more often. They offer some great entertainment close to home and at a reasonable cost.

For that matter its unfortunate the station budget is too tight to allow you to hit Fayetteville once or twice and cover the FireAntz hockey team. They’ve been league champions 5 of the past 6 years; and the year they lost the championship, the Coach lost his job. Now that is performance based employment.

Now no doubt, one of the entitlement weasels will have some comments to make about the unsolicited plug for local sports teams.

he was shabbily treated by the AD in his release. True, he did not have the results desired; but his termination or reassignment could have been held off until season’s end for the sake of the players.
