WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- The Columbus County mother who drove her daughter to a parking lot brawl with another teen has pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. WWAY was the only media outlet in the courtroom when Aneshia Cartret entered her plea this afternoon.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors agreed to waive an inciting a riot charge.

Investigators say Cartret drove her daughter to a Whiteville parking lot in February to fight another girl. The fight reportedly stemmed from a dispute between the girls on Facebook. The fight was caught on video.

In addition to the suspended sentence Judge Napoleon Barefoot sentenced Cartret to 18 months supervised probation and ordered that she must get a mental evaluation and anger management assessment and do 48 hours of community service. The judge recommended that if possible Cartret do part of the community service at a school.

"What you did on this occasion is unacceptable," Judge Barefoot told Cartret in court.

WWAY's Ramon Herrera will have much more on this story coming on tonight on WWAY NewsChannel 3 starting at 5.

Unless you have been there you should not judge another that has been.People don't get the full story before they pass judgement on someone. Those of you who are mothers stop for a moment and think about what you would do if the role were reversed and this were your daughter ,but before you do make sure you know all the facts and be honest with yourself , sometime in life you have to do what you need to do no matter what it takes, and no matter what the consiquences.Short of killing someone

ugh! Lee!!!

You called?

My goodness, She looks like she is nuts.... What kind of mother would let your child fight let alone drive her there.

This woman really does need mental help..

I hope the mom learned one thing from this. If you want your daughter to fight, do it on your own turf, not in public.

Good to see that this woman finally got justice. The old DA would have let her off as he has done so many times before. To encourage your child or any child to go fight and watch heads get banged into parking lots while blood pours is sinful. This time her money and her family could not help.
